AI-Free Therapy

Safety and trust are essential to our therapeutic relationship. As a therapist I take concerns about information security and surveillance very seriously, and for that reason I do not use AI tools in my practice. This is out of an abundance of caution and to support your sense of safety in our work. Data security is a priority in my work.

Generally speaking, if you are using insurance, your insurance company receives the diagnosis code and billing code. They do not automatically receive any notes or records from your treatment. If you do not use insurance, then there is no company that receives any information about your diagnosis or course of treatment.

This is an aspiration I am working towards; at present there are platforms and companies I work with that do not meet the standard I aspire to. I have taken measures to disable all AI and data-storing that I can on those platforms. This is a process and I am working toward a secure way to provide therapy, which eventually will include in-person work. For now, I am doing the best I can within the parameters of what I have available to me. I am interested in any suggestions or feedback as I navigate the current situation.
